Probabilities not Possibilities

I have just published a new article on the need to 'train for probabilities, not possibilities.'

The article is about when training and teaching for real world violence that we create scenarios for the probable, not the possible. Where people live, their demographic, work or social activity will dictate the nature of potentially violent encounters they may face and to develop tactics and techniques to deal with these, not the remote and often spurious, unlikely situations.

It’s an issue that dogs the practical application of traditional martial arts when dealing with modern violence. Training for all eventualities introduces complexity and unnecessary programming of techniques that will likely cause failure and becomes what we term ‘martial arts in jeans.’
